Will any DP G4 logic board fit in any DP tower?

What about single processor logic boards? I want to get a dual 1.42GHz G4 but don't want to pay 350-400 for it. So i thought i could piece together what i want.

$350-$400 for a dual 1.42 is a good price for that machine. That model is known as the G4 FW800 which looks similar to the MDDs but they lacked the FireWire 800 port and as much as I remember, the logic boards/processors from the dual 1ghz & 1.25ghz won't work with the 1.42ghz model. Good luck finding parts on the cheap end as just the power supplies alone still goes for over $100.

Ok. Will dual 800s-1.25s fit in each other's cases?

I'm going to use this computer as a server. I plan on plugging a few FW drives into it and putting it on the network as a headless computer.
