How likely is it that DP4 will be considered the GM? Thanks.

Impossible. If it was the GM, they would call it as such. Also, DP4 has known issues.

The GM will show up exactly two weeks before release, as always.

If this were the GM, Apple would have been turned into Microsoft. That is, by releasing a final product and expecting paying customers to beta test. That's not how Apple rolls.

Apple themselves even said during the announcement that this was a near complete version or something to that effect. We will probably see 1-2 (that would be pushing things) more builds before GM.

GM just means no show stopping bugs. Releasing a GM build to testers before the world is always a great testing idea.

Also look at Lion, one could say it should still be in testing with the issues they have. At work we still have lots of issues putting it on a domain, heck my iMac at work will no longer unbind, and will also not get password updates from our account server, short of a full reinstall I am stumped on how to fix it.
