Hi All,

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask the question.

‘Is it not possible to drag email attachments from Outlook emails to the Files app?’

This doesn’t work when I try. I can drag files to an Outlook email and it drops in as an attachment but just can do it the other way round to save the attachments from email.

Thanks

Are you fully viewing the attachment or the email in the iOS Outlook app?
Perhaps I wasn't clear with my question, so I'll explain in a bit more detail.

So, Outlook and Files Apps are open in split view. If want to save an attachment from Outlook email with drag and drop to the Files App, it does not work or save the attachment to the Files App. On the other hand, if I want to add an attachment to an Outlook email, I can just drag and drop the file from the Files Apps into Outlook email and the attachment is added. Seems weird it works one way and not the other.

I'm curious to know if others experience the same issue.

Not weird at all. Microsoft hasn’t enabled Files api within it to work with drag and drop. That method even on the desktop is asking for disaster - I can’t tell you how much time I’ve spend on calls or troubleshooting drag and drop within outlook alone where the wrong folder is selected.

Have you tried opening the attachment within Outlook first and then saving and navigating within outlook to files and path therein?

I just discovered pretty much the same issue (except with OneDrive rather than Files). I can drag from OneDrive to an Outlook email and drop. But I can’t drag from an Outlook email to OneDrive and drop. I have to QuickLook the attachment, press share, then Share File via ..., then choose OneDrive.

All seems rather strange to me.
