    Hey,

Just curious what are the potentially bad things that could happen if I was to get Volume Boost 3.0..

I have a hard time hearing my phone ringing in my pocket while at work, and my line of work requires being able to answer my phone (PC technician, many people needed my assistance).

The only thing I can think of is the speakers blowing out. Anyone know if there is a safe limit to boost the volume to using Volume Boost 3.0?

Lets just say there is a reason why apple chose to have the limit at where its at. Wether it be for potential hardware malfunctions or preventing of harming your eardrum. The volume is fine dude

I did a long drawn out mod to up the speakerphone volume involving editing a bunch of plist files. Didn't seem to really make much difference.

May try the Volume Boost 3.0. I had the Volume Boost 2.2 but didn't seem to really make much difference.

Yeah because they work in a quiet environment in a cubicle at their Apple campus and they thought it was loud enough. When my Nokia rings when it is quiet it startles you and you jump in your seat. I cant hardly hear my iPhone.

It was a bad oversite on their part.

The main downside is you could blow out your speaker.

If you do, you could just restore it and take it to the Apple store, they probably would replace it.

But does it even raise the volume enough to hear any difference ??

If not, it surely won't hurt the speaker.

BTW, I read on another thread that using a needle to poke holes in the plastic covering the bottom speakers increases the sound X2, but could let moisture or dust in easier.
