drawing app and pad

    hi, my aunt wants to buy my 6 year old cousin a macbook for christmas and she wants to get him a digital pad and drawing app so he can draw on it. she asked me to recommend the app and pad for her, but i can't find to much information on them. any advice on a program and/or pad? thanks

    So... this is for a six year old. How well do you know him? Does he really like drawing, or is he a typical six year old with typical six-year-old skills? Do you want a basic version of a good tool, or do you want something that's relatively indestructible and designed primarily for children but very limited?

    If he's a budding artist, something like the Wacom Bamboo might be good. It's not very expensive, but it's made by the industry leader in tablet design....

    that wacom bamboo tablet looks great, but, now i need a kid's drawing app that's simple and easy that will work with this pad

    There's an open source one called Tux Paint that's been said to be pretty good for children, actually...

    I believe it works with tablets.
