Imagine that you are really rich and that you are a total techno-geek. You're now designing your own home and you want to make it as futuristically fantastic as possible in the technology department - you have to plan it such that the technology is totally integrated with the architecture and the interior design of the house. What would you do? Let your imagination run wild. How far out can you think?

My house would be one gigantic holodeck. Star Trek USS Enterprise D kind, but bigger. That would take care of anything I could possibly need in the future.

I'd have a sensory deprivation chamber, just for balance.

    I'd have a decompression chamber.
For my dives below my house in the cave that would be 100m deep.:D

I'd have voice control on everything.
    Siri close the curtains
Siri turn on my 60" TV
    Siri make me a drink
I'd also employ a guy from the apple store to come and update all my apple products on the day they were released.

HAL 2000, and similar, have that now, for the seriously disabled.

Making the drink might pose a problem though. :(

just have a Nutrimatic drink dispenser installed. When the 'Drink' button is pressed it makes an instant but highly detailed examination of the subject's taste buds, a spectroscopic analysis of the subject's metabolism, and then sends tiny experimental signals down the neural pathways to the taste centres of the subject's brain to see what is likely to be well received.

Then she can steer her chair to the lift to the kitchen, ask HAL to activate it, go up 4 steps, and, hopefully, be able to reach out with her limited right arm/shoulder to grasp the handle with her 2 functioning fingers on that hand.

You had to see it to believe it, and she is not even the most amazing person I have ever had the honour of meeting.
