Dremel'd Nano dock work with iPhone 3G?

I have an old dock for my Nano that has just been collecting dust. Can I grind it out and use it for the iPhone 3G or are the voltages/etc. different?

I don't know about the Nano dock, but I Dremeled the Original iPhone dock and the 3G now fits in it perfectly.

For those crawling this thread - I've been charging the iPhone 3G on an old Nano dock for several charges now and I don't seem to be experiencing any problems.
