Drive not ejected correctly?

Hi Guys

After my MBP pro has woken up or even when it has been active for a while, I get a message in the top right corner of the screen saying "Drive not ejected correctly" I only have 1 external HDD connected and its connected all the time, when I get this message my external HDD is connected and still appears on my desktop.. so I have no clue what "Drive" its referring too..

Any help gratefully appreciated
