I installed the driver for my HP printer on my computer a couple months ago and ever since, my software update insists on installing the driver update every time I run software update. I even went into the print & scan settings and reset printing system, reinstalled software, and the problem still occurs. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem (is it a manufacturer problem) or is my computer just acting funky.

It isn't giving me any problems, its just annoying and I'm worried that there may be a bigger underlying problem.

I'm using a 2010 13" MBP and the printer is the HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z.

    thx

If it keeps saying the same revision number, then HP probably doesn't have their printer drivers properly set to tell OSx Software Update that they are already installed.

You can always just uncheck any software update and not install it.
