drivers liscence bar code reader

Want to use a iPad at a trade show to capture customer info - anybody know of an easy way to get the info in the ipad? - like a drivers license bar code reader or something like that?

Well I know the apple stores use an iPod touch integrated with a barcode scanner, for UPC and that kind of thing so it is possible.
