I have inherited a BlackMagic ATEM mini video switcher that includes a recording function. If you are not familiar wit this little gem, it has four HDMI inputs, one HDMI output and an output for recording the "show". The intent it to create a livestream for streaming and recording the "finished" show.

I have successfully connected it to my DirecTV and can record live television via the recording output device, however, when I connect it to the AppleTV device, the output (via HDMI out and on the recording device) is simply a black screen, so I am sure that it is failing the DRM handshake.

The confusing part is that it passes the "test" on my DirecTV box, but failed on the AppleTV box... is there any way around this?
