I was wondering if it is possible to move a Drobo back and forth between several Macs? Or are there preferences or something in Drobo Dashboard that keeps important info, and then make this not an option?

Also, am I right to assume that when you put your first couple drives in a Drobo, that they have to be blank/empty and that they have to be formatted by the Drobo software? Or could you put 2 x 1/2full 1TB drives and one blank 1 TB drive in?

Thanks in advance.

Macsales.com (OWC) has some good rebates on Drobo today. I was thinking of getting one.

The Drobo appears to Mac OS X as a big disk drive. You don't even have to have Drobo Dashboard installed once everything is initialized and formatted.

Any drives that you put into a Drobo will become blank/formatted when you put them in... :)
