Dropbox not updating from Yosemite

    I have dropbox on 3 computers and 2 iDevices. Since I updated 1 computer to Yosemite, it is no longer updating, and it's not clear that dropbox is even open often. To get it to update, I have to reboot completely and try to launch dropbox from applications, often multiple times. Eventually, it will take and update, but then the next time I think I have saved something, it doesn't show up.

    Any fixes you know of?

    Sounds inane, but try reinstalling Dropbox (newest version) on your machine? If that doesn't help I'd wait for future Dropbox versions, see if that fixes the issue.

    As for it not being clear if Dropbox is open, do you mean you're not always getting the Dropbox icon on your taskbar when it's running?

    Yep. And sometimes when I'm not getting the icon, but I go into applications and try to load it, I still don't get the icon. Other times, I do get the icon, but it doesn't seem like it is actually working.

    I'll try the redownloading. It would be nice to get at least that issue taken care of!

    Alright, sounds like something's not right at all. I haven't experienced these issues and I haven't found any similar reports online thus far. Sounds like it really just is a bad install.
    Reinstall and report back.

    Fully deleted this time and then reinstalled (instead of just installing over) and I *think* it is better. I'll have to see the next time it sleeps and then I work on a file.

    I have not had any issues, I put stuff on my dropbox from my iphone and when i use my macbook on yosemite, stuff is there...

    Mine runs/opens fine and sits up the top bar like normal, however I've found a few syncing issues myself in Yosemite, for example adding a photo from my iPhone 6 to my Dropbox, then checking (ensure it says all files up to date) only to find it not there. The next day I'll upload it again and re-check and it's there twice. I don't know if its just a slow sync, or getting stuck on certain files but it does seem to be a bit buggy for me at the moment!

    You aren't alone. I'm having massive issues with dropbox since yosemite update. Most of the time, it won't even open. Errors keep popping up. Constantly crashes. Tried reinstalling and doesn't help.

    There is a dropbox beta version on dropbox official forums. Maybe you can try it.

    I'm having the same issue. Usually a quit and restart of the app makes it work.
