I haven't seen it mentioned but...

Since upgrading to iOS 8, I can't view RTF files in Dropbox. These files were originally created by TextEdit and i have been viewing them using Dropbox's built-in editor for a year or so. Now, Dropbox acts like it's downloading the file and just says "Couldn't load file".

Anyone else seeing this?

I've deleted and re-installed Dropbox and have also deleted and re-added the RTF files to Dropbox.

Thanks,
John

I sent a report, hopefully they'll fix it soon. And bump up the amount of storage on their free accounts while they're at it. Gotta compete with iCloud. 😀

I emailed support about this problem last month. They said they are aware of it and are working on a fix. I got tired of waiting and now use Box which reads all my rtf files. It is a much better storage system all round and gives you much more free storage. I have now deleted Dropbox.

This is not just a Dropbox problem. Goodreader on iOS8 is also (now) having trouble with RTF files. Some apps (like Notability can open RTF files) while others are now broken.
