I just dropped it and it was completely under water for 5 seconds.

what to do?

My boss has dropped his in the toilet, dried it out for a few days, and it works fine. Also has it washed through the washer, dried it out a few days, and it works fine.

Just dry it out, don't put it in the sun directly, but just let it dry completely. There is a chance it will work; but it might not, then you need a new one.

Hopefully you shut it off and didn't try and turn it on. Remove the SIM card, throw the phone in a bowl of rice and wait a few days. Then try.

You also don't have to get a replacement, you could always be phoneless :D

Uncooked rice, of course.

If you powered it on, you've probably fried it already.

i didnt take out the sim card is that bad? i just instantly threw it in a bag of rice

Simple search: water, iPhone and limited it to iPhone and iPhone, Tips, Help and Troubleshooting.
