    Powerbook G4
Fell from a locker and cracked case here and there,
It powers on, but I get a grey screen with a folder and ?
Or by hitting 'Z' I get some sort of command screen,
    Its message reads,
    'Exit' to shut down
    Or type
    "Mac-run"

    Which doesn't do anything.
Is it possible something has shaken loose on impact and it can't now find its OS,
    Or is it spares only.

    As usual, thanks

    Richard

Sounds like the hard-drive is dead. The question mark means it cannot find the OS if I am not mistaken.

OK, that seems a fairly comprehensive vote for the one component.

Is it worth a replacemen do we think, or buy a bit newer model.

Well you could buy a new hard drive, but then you'd have a computer with pretty major cosmetic damages. If I were you I'd buy a whole new powerbook :D
