Why not purchase a display and gasket and try the repair yourself? There are plenty of videos on you tube that show what's involved and ifixit sells all the parts for relatively cheap

Sorry to hear about your incident. That's one of the main reasons I always get AppleCare+ on my Apple Watches. It's just too expensive to repair and it's not uncommon to have watches knock into things accidentally. Saying that, I have never broken a watch from dropping it or hitting it on something. I have scratched a watch face by bumping it into something though. So maybe I'm losing in the long run, but it gives me more peace of mind to know that I am covered if something happens.
