another example:
assuming your username is "bob" and ur hd is named as "hd":
cd /Volumes/hd/Users/bob/Desktop
assuming your username is "big bob" and ur hd is named as "bob hd":
cd /Volumes/bob\ hd/Users/big\ bob/Desktop

edit: something rly quick: if you typed cd /Volumes already, then maybe you just need to type: cd Macintosh\ HD/Users/tyler\ durden/Desktop

still saying there is no such file or directory...
 
mhm im still following this thread. im so curious, theres absolutelly no reason those wouldnt work....
 
cd / didnt work? Odd, or was it the ls -l command that didnt work. Type in pwd which should tell you what directory your currently in, and get back to us....:apple:


ok i went to new command and typed in pwd and it said: /private/var/root
[process complete]
