my dad dropped his Apple Watch series 4 cellular and is just off the phone with Apple who say the cost to repair can be up to £330 and he would need to send it to a repair center first to get the cost the watch itself was only £480 with a £50 discount

Does anyone have any advice or how much it actually cost to fix the screen?

Is it cheaper to sell the watch as broken screen and buy another? He doesn’t have Apple care

With the cost to replace the display versus what the watch cost itself, I would sell the watch broken and buy another. Especially with the holidays/Black Friday coming, you might be able find a discount with the Series 4. But definitely add AppleCare next time.

If you purchased using a major credit card, be sure to check that you don’t have a 90 day damage or loss insurance. I recently had Visa reimburse me for an expensive pair of new shoes that my dog decided to chew up.

It was purchased from very using credit, buy now pay in 12 months

£330 to fix and can’t add Apple care once they fix as it’s been repaired. Didn’t go ahead with it

Many home insurance have coverage for this, it’s an add on.

In addition, if the watch was purchased with a credit card, there are stipulations where the credit card company will cover damages or repair fee’s, the cardholder needs to provide some documentation in _most_ cases for the reimbursement to be applied.
