I'm using PDANet wirelessly from my windows laptop. I created an ad-hoc peer-to-peer network on the laptop and connect to the iPhone. Works great, for about 5 mins at a time then keeps disconnecting the network. Any idea what could be causing this?

I'm getting the same problem when connecting...it is a solid, stable connection for about 5-10 minutes and then randomly disconnects. Does anyone else have input on this?
ok, do you guys leave your iphone sleep!?
cause the same was happening to me 2 weeks ago, and then i disable the "sleep" (or how ever its called) so the phone stays awake and it worked great for like 2 hours!! BUT!! it just drinks the battery fast as hell!, my phone was conected! and in like 2 hours the battery drains to 4% (it was like 50% when i started using it)
BTW: im on 3.0 OS w the last PDA NET😉

This was happening to me as well, and no I do not let my iPhone sleep. I either set it so it doesnt sleep or keep it awake by touching the screen.

I don't let my phone auto-lock and it does that as well. Does anyone know f a fix? I'm going to check my version of pdanet when I get home...maybe that's it.
a USB client (or whatever) for MAC would be really usefull!

Another odd thing that just happened is I had PDAnet v 1.33 and it somehow automatically updated to 1.53. WTF, over?

I went to 3GS and didn't JB this time around and have been using the (benm) tethering option and it's worked fine since I've had my 3GS. Though I do miss the PDA tethering option. Haven't experienced a dropped connection yet; operating on 3G with 3GS iPhone....
Same thing happened to me earlier today; I don't use PdaNet very often, but lately it seems to be dropping the connection more and more. You really shouldn't need to disable the auto-sleep as PdaNet claims that it will prevent your phone from sleeping -- it also claims that it will run in the background, but both these features do seem to contain bugs. They really need to fix these issues; especially at the price they're charging.
yeah maybe its a bug or something, i used yesterday and i leave my phone sleep (autolock) and used it for like 45-60 minutes, then it stops working, and i struggled a few minutes to make it work again and then it started working again (i disable the autolock, just in case) used it for like 30 minutes then i push the sleep button (cause even when conected to the MB USB it just keep draining the battery) and used it for like 10 more minutes while on sleep.
Overall it works very good, sometime it gets a little hard to make it work, or drops wifi too much...
Yes, i guess you're right that this program is great for what it is. I just wish they cold get rid of some of the problems that it seems to be having. I'm sure updates will help with this.
