Dropping/banging devices

Can dropping or even banging devices such as iPods iPads or iPhones damage the components inside? Even if it doesn't break can it damage them just enough so it makes the processor slower or the memory slower or what have you?

Yes, it can damage them, but it won’t cause the processor or memory to be slower.

Yeah. I dropped my iPhone (in a case) and now its a bit messed up
