    Hello all,

I'm running a SR MBP 15 inch 2.4 ghz 5200 rpm HD and in Sony Vegas running through Boot Camp I can't capture video in real time. In iMovie I do not encounter this problem. My question is, is this simply because of the 5200 RPM HD being too slow or is Vegas at fault? My firewire HD broke so I don't have anything to test this on and your answer may be the deciding force in getting a new one or not.

if you capture fine using imovie on the same internal HD then it's not the drive's fault i guess. gotta be software. why would you want to do video under windows? your mac can handle it much better, you should get FCE for that kind of job.

This is just a really WILD guess, but chances are iMovie doesn't work on Windows.

i believe the OP meant running imovie on MacOS and running vegas under bootcamp.
