Hello!

Don’t really know if this pots fits on this section, if not, please feel free to relocate it ;)

I’m moving to a new flat next autumn and planning my new desk. I want to share a room and built it as a guests room and also as a home office.
I discovered the DropTop from Pith and Stem and I think it’s a cool idea. Also checked that the studio display would fit into the Max version.

I do love minimal desks so I think with the studio display (cam, speakers, usb-c charging) I could have everything with just one cable. Even I could use it with my Mac and my work laptop (HP based on Windows).
What do you think??? Would I have any regrets going this route ?? I am trying to think the drawbacks in advance… for example I’ll need to store everyday keyboard and mouse or use the laptop’s ones.

Thank you in advance!

BR!

It could be an issue..

the speakers on the Studio Display face down and 'bounce' sound off the desk towards you, so you might find as it's an enclosed desk that the sounds isn't great.

Also, the fans push the warm air out of the top of the display, so again you might find it being enclosed causes some heating issues...

Hi!! Thank you danbalsh!!

I’ve seen that the drop top offers an extensible arm to mount the monitor, so it could be possible to extract the monitor a little bit and avoid these issues, but I should pull and push the monitor every day when open/close the desk.

Thank you for your appreciations and comments! I’ll think about it!
