Anyone out there running Drupal 6 and Oracle 11G?

I've got a client who runs RHEL5 and LAMP setup and wishes to replace MySQL with Oracle.

I've only seen one hack/module which is experimental (Oracle Driver by Andrea Gariboldi who originated it on SourceForge) and uses PDO_OCI which is also experimental. I've seen another module which allows Oracle connectivity along side the default MySQL, and it uses OCI8 which I'm familiar with.

Note: I won't use Drupal 7 until stable release, plus they have many other modules which are not 7 compatible yet anyway. Must be Drupal 6.

Any tips/suggestions on how to approach this?

Any other projects out there I might have missed?

Are they trying to integrate w/ and ERP? I'm curious why they'd want to run Drupal on Oracle.

There is a legacy Oracle database and related server infrastructure involved but no ERP related Oracle modules or apps.
