i installed main menue and now i keep getting this >DS STORE icon on my desk top wtf is it??? and why wont it stop?? i moved main menue(its a maint prog it said) to the trash and yet i still fet this DS Store i have a new imac and now what?? painced noob here

It's used by the Finder to specify how one sees the Finder Window, and the contents therein. You cannot stop it.

It sounds like you are viewing all hidden files if you're seeing them.

To turn that off, Open Terminal and copy and past this in, hit Return, and then logout and log back in:

defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO

wow thanks a lot i promise not to download anyother deal like that i was trying to clean up my mac being new to Apple i thought it was like the pc and needed to be cleaned out all the time but i guess it does its own cleaning wow that was hairy thanks again😀

all i was trying to do was figure out how to get this mm to scroll again i guess i ve been eating to many freetos while scrolling😀
