I have a comment on the amount of ram in your powermac, i believe that you should at least have as much ram (mb) as you have proc speed in mhz

example: dual 2GHZ G5 at least 2GHZ, more than that would be really beneficial

First off, it's 2GB for RAM. But also, the amount of RAM you need isn't determined at all by the processor, but by what you use your computer for. Your average computer user (word processing, email, internet browsing) can probably slide with 512MB or even 256MB. You start to need more RAM when you begin to run more and more applications simultaneously, or when you do graphics or video work. The processor speed really shouldn't affect the decision.

8 DIMM slots vs 4 DIMMs... and think in PAIRS.

You are paying $500 for 2 extra memory upgrades, or not having to toss out the memory you have in the machine when you want to upgrade it again after you used your first 3rd party pair.

This is most evident in the mini with 1 DIMM slot... 2 DIMMs would be better for mini users and 4 would be happy days.

The PM is quite similar basically being 2 pair or 4 pairs, though a PM with 1 pair would drive you nuts.

Larger HD, 2 extra memory upgrades, PCI-X (which you may not use), and a slight MHz bump.

RAM may not be important to you now, but in a couple years -- maxing out at 16GB may be worthwile.
