    Hello,

I have ben looking for a while now but haven't been able to find out whether having 2 5770s in a new Mac Pro will improve performance. I don't need more monitors. What I am wondering is if I would see performance gains in Photoshop, FCP, and Maya by having two cards, and if so about how much. Thanks for any help.

Assuming 1 or 2 average size monitors...For Photoshop and FCP...a second 5770 won't make much difference. Not until OpenCL and new releases of the apps change the equation.

I don't know about Maya...but if it's like my C4D then yes you could see tangible improvement in OpenGL viewport performance depending on how you set up your system.

A new version of FCP is probably due next week. It's altogether possible we might see Adobe CS5.5 as well. Lion is just around the corner...along with new GPUs in coming months. A lot is poised to change within the next few months.
