Just wondering how many other people use an iPhone and Android phone simultaneously. I want to know what everyone does to keep stuff synced and how do you share files between devices. Not really interested in using Google Photos so I have some alternative ideas in mind.

What about sharing stuff between the two devices in some kind of AirDrop equivalent? Do you just use a messaging service between the two devices to share files/whatever?

Or is this not really a concern for people

Just curious

This is also interesting to me if I were to get an Android and use it with my iPad and Mac, before when I have done such things I used OneDrive for file storage and just added it in my Files app. But passwords (using a third party password manager on iOS sucks), photos and such have always been quite annoying for me to get working in a way I find convenient and smooth.

Localsend is a great-cross platform app for sharing content locally between devices. Then there is a couple browser based like sharedrop and pairdrop. Besides that i sometimes also send stuff between my iPhone and Android via Signal since i have it setup on both devices/numbers but this is mostly when in rush.

Mainly i'm storing things on my Synology or cloud storage provider where i tend to favor the latter just because of the apps feeling nicer and straightforward to use.

But the main thing for me is to never use a specific service that locks me in to one platform, or makes it a very big/drawn out hassle trying to switch. Like password manager, browser, notetaking, to-do tasks i use providers that is cross platform.

I use iPad and Mac's with Android phone and Chromebook. Sync my contacts on Google account (and have one cloud-sync'd folder), use LocalSend to shuttle files between them and dump/refresh music from my Mac directly onto mobile phone.

Nice find on the LocalSend! I just downloaded and pleasantly surprised how well it picked up both the iPad & Fold without much trouble.

Normally would use Google Drive between my Fold & iPad, going to add LocalSend to the mix.

If you’re using Android, you have a Google account which means you also have 15GB of free Google Drive storage. Any files I need access to across platforms get saved on Google Drive while I use my Google Account to for my contacts and calendars. I also have storage on One Drive included with my Office 365 subscription so I could use that as well if needed.
