How ever the OS is perfectly cable to move the rendering/sound/its-own-tasks to other cores :) just because the app is single threaded and does not use GCD, does not mean it can't gain from additional cores.

But will that type of offloading continuously occupy a large percentage of each additional core? Not likely in my experience, especially when we're talking about more than 2 cores. We shall see I guess.

Oh look, another person who's never even touched an iPad

U obviously don't own an iPad

Obviously you guys don't own a lot of electronics. I bought both iterations of iPad right when it came out, used it for two weeks then it lays on my coffee table until the next one comes out. Then it's time to sell it and repeat the cycle.

This is probably strange for you to understand but it's quite common.

Eric Slivka you are in my opinion the best article writer here (by a fairly large margin). I do enjoy reading your articles here. But please don't fall into the "overusing expected" trap. Doing this would be a degradation of your otherwise fairly well written articles.

I go agree with the dual core A5. But I do not agree with LTE. If they do have an LTE iPad it'll be one with 3G+LTE in the one device. But personally I think it'll be Wifi and Wifi+3G as usual.

Curious did u ever use the 3G?

Not sure what you mean here. If you're asking if I owned a 3G iPad, then yes I did. I owned a gen 1 64GB 3G.

I tether my MBA to my iPhone all the time (and it forces 3G of course on iPhone, then broadcasts a wifi spot for the computer to tether to...if there's native wifi available, there's no need to tether). It chews up iPhone battery quite handily.

not worth it to risk just to have one more geek toy.

After just watching the keynote, I think you'll find it is worth it and more than a mere toy! perhaps u could tell her you'll pack your lunch for work for the next 3 months (as you hand her a bouqet of flowers ;) )
