I just added a second display to my new iMac, but I can't figure out how to span a 3200x1200 wallpaper across both screens. I see how to do it when the wallpaper is split -left and right, but I can't seem to figure this out. Probably a simple solution- thanks for any help.

I'm not sure but I think you might have to cut it into two 1600x1200 images, and then use one on each display.

Yes this is true. Windows will let you use one background over multiple displays, OS X will not. You have to use separate images.
