The D300S Nikon has 2 slots for memory, 1 CF and 1 SDHC. Where do you specify which card to write to first, or can you? Does the camera give you the number of shots available utilizing both cards in one number or do you have to search for the different cards? And last, why 2 different cards, why not 2 of the same type? Space in the camera maybe???
Thanks

From KenRockwell.com:
You can use both at once if you like in various ways, like record different kinds of files on each, and move files around between them. I prefer the Backup mode, which keeps a safety copy on the other until I can backup the files from the active card offsite. Of course Overflow mode is also there, in which the D300s moves magically to the next card when the first is full.

For more info go here and scroll down to "Secondary Slot Function".
