when dual screening a macbook what matters, the size of the monitor or its maximum resoulution, in simpiler terms could a macbook support a 30 in monitor with a max resolution of 1440x900 and not support a 13 in monitor with the max resolution of something higher than 2000x1000

The MacBook can only support up to 1920 x 1200 on an external display in addition to what's on its own LCD display.

The resolution is what matters.
