iPod touch Dual XDVD8183 In Dash- Compatable?

I own a dual xdvd8183 which is a car in dash dvd player. It also has a port for ipod connection and it has worked on my previous models of the ipod. For some reason though when i hook the touch with it, it shows the number of songs on my touch, but gets stuck at the locating songs list.

Im assuming this is a compatably issue, but i wouldnt have thought that the original ipod and the itouch's software were so different that it wasnt compatable.

Has anyone else experienced an issue like this or similar?

I don't have that unit, I have a low-end Pioneer. I can play music off my touch, but unlike previous models the head unit doesn't display any message on the touch.

Annoyingly, the pioneer ipod interface doesn't access podcasts...serious WTF

i have dual...different model, but it has the iPlug where i plug an aux cable into the iPod and it plays trough the radio
