"WWDC" Are they trying to sound cool by saying that "Dub" "Dub" instead of "dubyuh" "dubyuh'? It just sounds lame.
Does anyone actually pronounce "W" as "dub"?
 
dub-dub ? I always wondered what that meant... It really annoyed me when Craig said it. Doesn't sound like has anything to do with WWDC. I related it to dub-step
 
As others have said, colloquially, it's been 'dub dub' for many years. Apple have used the nickname themselves before, I'm sure there are other examples but this is from WWDC16:
