Not bad. Works better in mirrored mode or you (perhaps just I) keep moving the cursor to the ipad screen by accident.

This is awesome. Been wanting this ever since someone posted the info about that jailbreak app that emulated the Touch Bar. I hope Apple doesn't block this. They'd have a hard time doing it as they're not breaking any App Store rules with the iOS App, and the macOS app is not distributed on the store.

This is great and I'm glad they've done it.. I'll be using it for sure, buuuut...

Is there some way to have the touch bar appear "in a window" in normal Sierra? That would mimic the functionality for me and other people using things like Cintiq tablets? If I use Duet I end up with 3 screens and it's all a bit overkill. :D

edit: Sorry everyone, googled it and found https://red-sweater.com/touche/ .. So that's cool.

Just run it on my MBA and iPhone, works v well. Apple bound to take a view on this...

This is indeed awesome. The best part is that I can use iPad as a touch bar with the MacBook pro in clamshell mode. I hope it doesn't get pulled. The touch bar on the iPad is responsive and quick. It works just like the one on the new MBP. I think it adds tremendous value to the duet display. Now it's a must have even if you already have a touch bar MBP.

Ok. I just emailed support and what they gave me for an answer doesn't work...why is it that I don't see the touch bar support on my Macbook air (2015 13") and iPad Pro 9.7 in as an option? Running the latest versions of the software and OSes on both devices...

Very strange.

Hey, did you enable touch bar in duet's settings in the menu bar? Also can you tell me the exact macOS and duet version (for both Mac and iOS) that you are on?

It's not an option in my menu bar. I know support just sent a screen shot with the same thing and the option isn't showing up for me - I just downloaded and installed the newest version of Duet on iOS and the companion app on my Mac. I'm running 10.12.2 on the mac and 10.2 on my iPad Pro. I don't get it.

Here's a screen shot of what I see.

Any chance you are on iOS 7?

Just read that you said 10.2 on your iPad Pro, sorry about that. When I said version, I meant version of duet on the Mac (you can see it by hitting the gear icon in that picture you sent). iOS version is a bit harder but you can just update from the app store.

Just checked with your support ticket. It auto-filled to say you are on Sierra 10.12.1. Are you sure you are on 10.12.2?

It's all the latest version (Mac Version 1.6.3.4) I downloaded it today. The problem is not the version.

I sent a three part message but I think you are on 10.12.1 based on your support ticket. You need to be on 10.12.2 or later.

I have it setup, works as advertised.

One notice I noticed tho, the TouchBar covers the bottom of the display, so you can't see about ~90px of the bottom of the screen!

Another thing that would be great is if there was an option to move the TouchBar to the top of the display - That way it would be near my thumbs as I use the iPad right underneath my keyboard.

This thing is freaking incredible. Using the controls for Maps and Photos is intuitive and, oddly, easier than using a track pad. Apple should definitely not pull this as it's the best possible advertisement for the MBP.

I got it working with 10.2.2 on my wife's Macbook Air 13" but my 11" is still not working under 10.2.2 - I made sure I was completely updated on the OS and it's still not showing that option. It is a Late 2010 Macbook Air 11" - is it possible there is a hardware incompatibility?

While I'm at feature requests, would be nice to have the option to also disable touch on the display other than the touch bar, that way it can set under the keyboard without adding random touches.

Can you continue this on the e-mail thread? Much easier to debug. There shouldn't be a hardware limitation but we don't have hardware that is 6 years old to test on.

Looking into options for placement. So far no one size fits all, this was just the most workable. Will keep you posted :)

Is it possible to customize the touch bar? When I tried, my iPad display went crazy. Also, any way to make height of the row a little higher. Target on iPad a bit tiny. Finally, the touch bar controls for Microsoft Office 2016 are not appearing when an Office app is in focus.

I wanted to like Duet - I spent some time comparing competing apps. I have an 5K iMac as my primary device, but a Win10 PC for my work and it nearly bricked my GPUs (dual RX 470s). It took me nearly the entire day to get it back up and running. Duet worked fine on my iMac, but I only purchased it a couple weeks ago and I've barely touched it since. It also messed up AirPlay to my ATV4 for a bit.

I've already asked Apple for a refund - spending $20 just a couple weeks ago for something that was cumbersome and then put on sale is irritating.
If you ask for a refund, can you buy it again later? Because I bought it on sunday for 20€ and today I asked for a refund, but it doesn't give me the option to buy it again. I hope it doesn't mean I can 't ever get that app back even paying it again, that would be stupid.

What programs support the touch bar? I know PS CC does (I have CS x so it's no help yet), Safari shows me open tabs, but I haven't found anything else that uses it.

What are the must haves?
