Funny thing is, nobody who really hates it does give real reasons why they believe it's a bad game. Even professional reviewers.

Can someone who disliked the game write some valid reasons why you don't like it?

Most of what I read said the level designs are crap (cramped vs D3D). The jokes aren't funny (anymore), and that the game isn't as action packed as D3D.

I haven't played it or the demo, so ymmv.

I bought the game after reading a lenghty article that thrashed it. Because reading between the lines I noticed, that this game would entertain me. I haven't played it that long yet, but I've enjoyed myself. It's way better than it's reputation.

Allthough I have to say, that after the DN3D I've only played R6: Raven Shield and Vegas; Halo and CoD4 and tried a bit of Lara Croft and some James Bond game on PS. (by the way: I think the controls on Mac, or any computer, are ok as long as you use mouse and keyboard...)

But the bottom of the line being: I preordered it and haven't regretted a bit.

Agree....

I bought it too, since I want to support the few real efforts out there at porting games to the Mac (not cheating using the Cider engine!). At the sale price of $5 off, I can't really complain so far either.

I think a lot of the negative reviews stem from people with really high expectations for anything claiming to be the "long awaited sequel" to the original Duke 3D. If you play it for what it is, and don't concern yourself with how it stacks up to the original - it's a playable, entertaining game.

As many Playstation 3 titles as I've been suckered into paying $55+ for and then didn't enjoy them at all -- this is far better than those purchases (the car racing game "Grid" comes to mind as one example).
