Sesshi macrumors G3 Original poster Aug 14, 2006 #1 What's the easiest way to splice and crop an MPEG movie on the Mac?

evil_santa macrumors 6502a Aug 14, 2006 #3 Quicktime pro is good if you want to bung together a load of mpeg movies.
Sesshi macrumors G3 Original poster Aug 14, 2006 #4 I'm still scratching my head in iMovie how I crop (as in effectively zoom into a portion) a footage. If iMovie can do it, great.

You might need plugins like these: http://www.stupendous-software.com/Stupendous/CropsZooms/Pages/index.html I think you may actually want the Zoom plugin and not the crop one, though. Otherwise ffmpegx might be able to help you. It's free, although it will not be as easy.
