Hey so I got the new MBP MAX does anyone think it would be an issue to use the cord extender rather than the small attachment to the plug? To be clear if you remember in the past you could have just the brick charger with a plug coming right out of it or you could add an additional plug so its cable to your computer to the brick and then cable to the outlet.

THANKS

Apple sells it, they just don't include it anymore.

You can pull off the plug (part that goes on the socket) from the end of the PSU. You can then use one of these cables on it (I am sure most houses have one lying around):

Yes, IJustine stated she'll be using one in her video
I saw her video early in the morning and didn't even know that product existed until watching her show. I actually ended up buying it and It makes total sense to purchase it. I have it now installed on the new charger

Nice! I do like the point she made that the prongs on the adaptor won't fall out unlike when you plug the normal one into the wall. Almost makes me want to buy the extender again (bought one many years ago and I have no idea where it is)

I got the cord delivered today too- totally worth the 19 bucks on Amazon. It's great to have MagSafe back! 🥰

I use the one from my MBP from 2012. stupid question but will it hinder fast charging? Like does the cord not provide enough power? I don’t know how electricity works so forgive me 😅

Yup that is the reason I purchased it because I had those moments where the prongs come off.

I have a couple of old power extension cables from old MBP when they used to ship them with the laptop. Apple has not changed the design for years and they still fit perfectly. I am using a 10 plus year old extension cable with the new 140W charger that came with my 16" M1 Pro MBP.

I have two of these from old MacBooks. Will definitely be using with the new. Shame they don’t include it anymore…
