Okay, I love column view. But I want to know how big FOLDERS (not files) are when I look in the finder. Call me lazy because I don't want to hit get info. I'd rather use column view then the other one that shows the file size. Is there a quick key besides get info to see folder sizes in the column view? Or is there some neat little mac program out there to hover over a folder and see the file size or something?

Congrats on the beautiful baby!~

All I could think of would be to color code your folders using labels. Maybe you can have Automator do it for you? Might be good to send Apple a hint too.

Thanks for the reply! Oh, I'm afraid of Automator. I'm afraid it might instantly overload my brain or something. :D Actually, I just don't know how to use it. :)

I just looked up the actions. It will totally do this if you like that idea. It's not as bad as it looks, just play around with it a bit. :)

Click the "Finder" library (left column) and look for "Find Finder Items" in the right column. Drag it to the space on the right. There you can specify the size range you want. Then drag "Label Finder Items" to the right and there you go! I guess you can do up to seven labels. Then it's just a matter of saving it as an Automator app and running it! If you don't want it to label every folder in your system you should add some more parameters, like specifying a group of files/folders. :)

Thanks

Thank you dferrara and sambo for your kind words.

Thanks deferrara for looking up those actions. I guess I now have to tackle Automator. I'm sure I'll love it once I start using it, but man does it look daunting.
