Alright, so I admit this is a dumb question: When I upgrade to Leopard, can I move my important files, to, say, a usb drive, then do a "clean install"? If I do one of these clean installs, do I keep iLife '08? It came with my imac, but I don't actually have a disc for it.

Thanks for your help!

Just do an Upgrade or an "Archive and Install", and you won't have to worry about it. Mac OS X isn't Windows, there is no need to format the HD before installing a new OS.
