I finally decided to give iCloud a try. I started out by forwarding all of my Gmail to the new @icloud.com address I was assigned.
I'm receiving two copies of each email I get in this new inbox. Like exact copies so it has the grey "2" off to the right. I've tinkered with all of the settings and can't figure out why it's doing this.
