Has anyone else played around with the "merge duplicates" option in photos on iOS 16? For me I'm noticing that it sometimes finds two photos that are maybe a microsecond apart. Not really "duplicates" so-to-speak.

Highly improbable your phone is able to take two consecutive photos at 1⁄1,000,000 shutter speed. BTW the duplicate finder works by analyzing the contents of the image and considers file metadata less important.

How exactly do we find duplicates. I don’t find any button to click on for finding and listing duplicates.

Same. But i am glad that it flags out very very similar photos for me to decide whether I should delete one of them.

Only hope that they add an ignore button if I decide to keep both instead of appearing as duplicates forever.

i feel like i got way more then 170 photos that are Duplicated but i dunno we'll see as the beta comes along

I had over 100,000 photos in my old photos library. I one day decided to back it all up and start anew. I now have over 50,000 photos. I wish there was an easy way to cull them down to ones I want versus crap I don’t need.

Just screenshots are at 10,000. I do these every time I make a purchase or want to log something. Then I put it in a note quite often but the remnants remain.
