Duplicate Photos folder missing in iOS 17?

Guys, I think I messed up a bit and now have heaps of duplicate photos. I went into Albums to access the duplicates folder, but it's not there. I've given it 2 days to show but still nothing.

I synced my iPhone 11 on the Mac photos app and selected to sync the last 6 months photos. This has now duplicated all of the last 6 months photos.

I know I can unselect the 6 months option, but I'd then lose photos I need access to on the phone.

Any tips please? I followed the Mac Rumors tip of purposefully duplicating a few existing photos and then giving it a bit of time, but that didn't work either.
