Got a brand new (customized, larger resolution screen) Macbook pro i7.

I just noticed that the mac address on the wifi and the mac address on the ethernet are the same. What gives?

Anyone else seeing that same thing?

Applications/Utilities/Terminal type in 'ifconfig' hit return what Mac address is shown for 'en0:' and 'en1:'? not need to post it just check it out, they can't be the same.

Good call. in ifconfig, they are different.

In the System Preferences, under advanced, the same id is shown for both AirPort and Ethernet (and apparently it's the airport (listed under en1 in ifconfig) that is shown. Seems like a bug in the System Preferences gui, which is a much better thing than a duplicated mac.

Thanks!
