Okay, this is my first mac ever. I just got the mbp 17 c2d yadda yadda two days ago.

I transfered all of my songs from my windows machine to a portable hard drive and then put them in my music folder on this computer. I then dragged them into the itunes library and now I have some songs in there 4 times. But if I show duplicates and delete them, then it deletes most of my songs.

Any help would be appreciated. And I was having issues on my windows machine with this as well.

Thank you,

- Jeff

It shows both copies of the duplicate in the show duplicates so you must go through carefully, there might be an applescript to do it automatically at doug scripts.

putting them in the music folder and then adding them to iTunes is redundant. By default, it copies the music you add to iTunes into the iTunes music folder, within the music folder. So, after you 'add to itunes' delete the originals.
