Duplicates in "Places" in Finder

Hi, I am running Leopard on a C2D Macbook, and find that every time i restart, the Places menu on the left hand side of finder has completely duplicated. I then have to manually remove each item after each restart.

I don't know if it has anything to do with the feature linked to below, but would ideally like to keep it, and was wondering if anyone else was having this same problem/knew of a fix?
