I have quite bad OCD, so take my watch off for many things.

One example being when I changed bedding earlier today.

What about you? Are there certain activities for which you take your Apple Watch off?

Wishing you well.

I don't wear it when I sleep (not currently interested in sleep tracking, so that's when it charges). Otherwise, the only time I really take it off is if I'm needing to stick my arms someplace where the watch might get deeply scratched, like car maintenance and such.

Is leaving it on charge all night not bad for the battery?

No. Apple Watch optimized charging handles that for me. Only charges up to 80% and is held there until around 5:00am, then it goes up to 100% before I put it on around 6:00am each morning.

But even before watchOS support for optimized charging, I put it on the charger at night and never had any battery life issues. Not in the duration I keep my watches, anyway (update roughly every-other generation).

I don't take my Ultra off other than changing band, and then every other night it goes on the charger and I wear my S7 for sleep tracking.
So it stays on my wrist for any and all acivites. for me it's a tool, not a piece of jewelry, and if it gets scratched, so be it. it has a life of maybe up to 4 years tops and then gets replaced

I only take it off to charge it, other wise it lives on me. I have the ultra, I bouht it to not have to baby it, and have no intention on doing so. 😬

It only comes off for showers and charging.

When I first got the Apple Watch, I was a little more cautious, but it seemed to always get hit by things anyways.

I put a small scratch on the glass, still not sure how.

Since the scratch, I don't care anymore. My watch doesn't come off for much now.

I wear it while working on my cars, getting oil, dirt, and grease on it.

I wear it while working in my yard, and garden. I just dug a 115' trench for irrigation lines, I was covered in dirt.

I wear it when my wife and I have adult time.

I wear it in the ocean, at the beach.

I recently cut up a section of asphalt in my driveway for drainage, while wearing my watch, my watch arm was completely covered in dust.

Not sure if I am supposed to, but I often wash my whole watch in hot water and dish soap.

I take it off when showering and when it needs to charge, usually an hour or so before bedtime. Sometimes I take it off in the morning if I didn't charge at bedtime.

When showering, I have a ritual of running it under cold water while holding a finger over the speaker hole and then drying it off with a towel before placing it on the charger.

Yes, the Water Lock feature does work well. But sometimes I have to lock and unlock it several times to get all the water out and that's too tedious and time consuming for me.

I feel the area where the Watch sits on my wrist can get a bit irritated if I never run it under water, or at times when I didn't have access to a shower for many days.

I've read that a lot experience contact dermatitis from wearing the Watch because they don't clean the Watch and wrist often enough.

So you should definitely take it off a couple times per week and clean your skin and run the watch and band under water, like I described.

I haven't submerged my Watch in water yet as I know AppleCare doesn't cover any kind of water damage. So I also take it off before swimming.

When I work on my vehicle, putting my wrist down metal crevices or in tight spots is no place to be wearing the apple watch or any watch.

I take it off when I shower, and when I sleep. That’s it.
Only for showers and charging does it come off.

I was a little more careful when I first bought the Apple Watch, but it always seemed to get hit by stuff.

Still unsure of how, I made a tiny scratch on the glass.

Since the scrape, I've stopped caring. Not often anymore do I take off my watch. I work in my garden and yard while wearing it , allowing oil and grease to get on it.

I’m overprotective of mine.

I wish I didn’t “care” about it, because I know I’d actually enjoy it more.

I basically take mine off only to charge, usually after work/before bed or in the morning, and occasionally when I shower (usually it’s left on, oops). I properly wash my hands (i.e. I often wash my wrists as well), and that typically includes an over-under with soap and water for the Watch. Never had any issues with hygiene-based irritation.

On a different note, I have a question for Ultra owners: Do you ever wear it to bed? I want an Ultra someday (perhaps once they finally issue a proper CPU upgrade) and although I typically have no issues with the smooth, pebble-like 41mm Series 6 during sleep, I’m curious how sleep-tracking enthusiasts fare with the largest model.

Not noticing any difference between Ultra and my S7 Ti when wearing track sleep. I put my Ultra on the charger every other night so wear the 7 every other night. Makes no difference, for me.
