Y'all, I just exchanged my iPhone for a new (white box) iPhone because there was dust under the camera lens.

Now guess what? This one has it too.

I have attached a photo and was wondering if anyone can see the dust and if it is affecting picture quality.

Can’t see it tbh but I’m not doubting it’s there.

Really thought this would have a picture of dust or the camera lens, not just a picture taken.

I mean I can post a picture of the camera on my iPhone but I mean I'd rather just take a picture with the iPhone and see if it actually made any difference.

Thanks that makes me feel better. I don't really see anything obvious either.

I could prob get it fixed again but I mean then maybe some other problem or even the same problem might arise so since I'm happy with this phone except for the dust thing I'd rather just keep it at least for now

UNLESS

My pics are getting affected of course.

What am I supposed to be seeing in that pic? I'm being serious, it looks like a picture to me. What is the giveaway that what I'm looking at is the end result of dust in the lens?

When you're trying to check for dust in the lens/sensor it's best to take a picture of the sky when it's very clear and so that the sun is not in the frame. It's impossible to see dust in a picture like the one you attached.

I don't see anything wrong but wanted feedback incase I'm missing something.

I care more for the selfie camera but need a good back camera too so just making sure.

Can you give me another suggestion? Ill change the pic right now. It's just super sunny where I'm at

Oh I get it. You see dust in the lens but are asking us if its affecting your picture noticeably. I personally don't see anything wrong.

This is the easiest way. There shouldn't be anything but sky in the picture.. so when you zoom in any speckle is very noticeable.

Gotcha, sorry wasn't clear to me. You see dust in the camera and want to know if it is affecting your pictures. I would return a phone if I saw obvious dust in the camera. Might not do anything to pictures now, but that isn't to say it won't win the future. Seems really bad luck to have that happen twice in a row.

I had an issue with a chipped lense on an iPhone 5 back in the day and didn’t want to risk another device with a potential bigger issue but everything else was perfect so I feel you on this!

Ok I'll wait till the sun is dimmer and no clouds and give it a shot. Thanks!

Taking an image of the sky will show more about debris on the sensor and not the lens and only if you could stop it way down.

Like I said the dust would be so far out of focus that unless it was large and covered half the lens it will be hard to spot.

At most it would slightly decrease contrast.

WHO was the one that voted they could see something? LOL!

Upper left hand corner it looks like something but I'm not sure if that's my eyes playing tricks on me.

Dang I think I see it too! I did take multiple shots and don't seem to find it in the others. But I do see what you're talking about in this one. Looks like a squiggly piece of dust :(

I don't see anything either. Going to be up to you OP.

I'm conflicted at this point. I might just keep it. If I change it out and face other problems then what would be the point. Disappointed, but what to do
