My iPad has a few (at least five) dust particles under the glass. They're off to the edges and not really noticeable. My iPhone has considerably more dust that it gathered over the last two years but that thing is also beat to hell and back!

Anyone else with an iPad dust-under-screen experience? If you went to exchange it, how was that experience? Mine's from Best Buy and they've been good to me in the past concerning exchanges but I've never tried one for a dust issue.

If i lived near you, I could fix them for you....doubt i do though

California?

NY here. :)

I wouldn't mind cleaning the iPhone; it's out of warranty and likely to be replaced this summer anyway. The iPad on the other hand, being brand new and still under manufacturer's warranty (and within BB's return policy time frame)... less inclined to crack that bad-boy open for any reason.

Your intentions are good and appreciated, however!

Not worth the commute :)

Now that's got to be one of the most annoying thing out there. I got a little under my iPhone and it annoys the heck out of me.

Best Buy will take it back within 30 days, no questions asked, as long as you didn't cause any damage to the device.

Make sure you still have the box and all accessories. Wipe the device down and pack it away neatly. Have the receipt ready.

Return it and get a new one. It's that simple.

DO NOT try to fix it yourself.

Awesome, I'll give that a shot then!

One thing I have to say about this iPad -- boy oh boy does it love fingerprints! It's far worse at resisting fingerprints than any other touch device I've used to date. But this doesn't make the iPad any less sexy. ;)

We'll see how BB is today. I have to return the Apple iPad case as well.

BB won't give you a problem. I returned due to dust but then I got even worse (dead pixels). Only thing worse than dust is 4-5 dead pixels on the screen. I wishi had my dust problem back!

I've got a couple of them on the lower right corner of the screen. One is black and almost looks like a dead pixel. It's hardly an issue, but I'll be darned if it's not the most annoying thing. I'm half tempted to take it back to exchange it, but it's really not that big of a deal.

I'm an hour and a half away from the nearest Apple store. I'll deal with it. I don't think I've ever owned a device where dust didn't eventually make it's way under the screen anyways. There's nothing under my 3GS yet, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

Official Apple policy for dust under a screen is a screen replacement. I've had this happen twice- actually, I got a brand-new iPhone once. Most recently I had a 3GS screen replaced two weeks ago in under 10 minutes.

I swapped my iPad out at an apple store for a few specks of dust under the glass. It seems from what I see in this forum a few folks are running into the issue-- hopefully this will be something the QC procedure at the factory will pick up going forward, assuming apple identifies it as a trend.

Yeah, I think I'm going to return it today, there's just no reason for any eyesore on the screen.

I just noticed I have one tiny spec of dust on mine as well. I am going to try to live with it for now. Hopefully with some static it will move off of the screen on its own.

BTW mine is not as bad, I have to look for it to see the spec. It just bugs me right now because I noticed it today in direct sunlight.

I always find when I return something for a reason like this, the subsequent ones are always worse.
