i noticed a few small specs under the lens. Don’t affect photos at all. I see from searching that this is a huge issue on the X and people have swapped multiple units and still have the issue.

Opinions are like...well.. everyone has one. Mine is that for a device this expensive.. with a very.. VERY.. heavy focus on the camera I would not accept one new with dust under the lens cover.

.. but I’m also the guy who has ordered a sensor cleaning kit for my backup Fuji X-E1 for one spec of dust that won’t come off with a blower.

‘Huge’ issue? You only hear reports about it on a tech forum, but for the millions iPhone sold, we don’t know how ‘huge’ of an issue it actually is in comparison.

Regardless, Apple can disassemble the iPhone and actually clean behind the camera lens cover, which they won’t issue replacements most times being they have the tools to do so in the store.

IMO it kinda was a hugh issue. I had 4 iPhone X’s myself with dust under the lens.

What did you do about it in the end?
Got one that had no dust after 4, I won’t settle for one with dust after I spent a grand on a phone. If they can’t make phones without a bunch of imperfections then they need to stop making them, I use to be a hardcore Samsung fan and bought them all new. Never had one come out of the box that wasn’t flawless. And I had a series 1-8 and notes 3-5. So IMO it’s no excuse to have dust under the lens. Apple has gone down hill with the X when it comes to defects. I had one that had a chunk of glue on top in between the chassis and the glass and another that had space grey missing.

Nope they aren’t. IMO they are overpriced for what you get. I’m honestly thinking about going back to a galaxy. I just don’t like the curved edges on those.

haha i couldnt stand the excessive processing by samsung cameras, and the slow software update, so pixel is probably my only choice if im switching. the rumoured pixel 3 is so ugly though

I would enjoy my phone like you said to me.

My X has it and I used it as an excuse to warranty replace it 8 months in. So, if you can live it with for now, then just warranty change when you want a fresh phone.

My XS Max has two under the rear glass too. I’ll just hold out again.

I use my phone naked so it helps when I want it freshening up.

My unit has one tiny speck of dust do I care nope.

I suggest if your on IUP program don’t replace it at all it’s it not the same as from factory most likely you will have same issue or even worse and you will have issues in August with the warranty not being tied to your account.
